Earlier this week, before the WoW: Forever launch, the Shaman Classic Discord shut down in protest of "how the developers are approaching all Shaman specs in WoW Forever.".
In a recent interview with Crix, Kris Zierhut addresses the shutdown and gives his thoughts on the current state of Shaman and what the future for Shamans could be.
Kris ZierhutI think some of their issues are legitimate and some of them are that they're mad they can't have improved Ghost Wolf.
Kris goes on to discuss how they're looking particularly hard at Enhancement, as they're being pushed towards wanting too much spell power gear. Enhancement Shamans should want to wear Strength, Intellect, and Spell Power, similar to Ret Paladins. They do not want Enhancement to run around in Cloth Robes.
He also comments on the state of Elemental, as they're watching it really closely. Kris made the last-minute call as he heard that players don't like Lava Burst and they wanted more powerful Chain Lightning, but he admits it could've used a little more "cook".
Kris ZierhutI wouldn't be surprised if early next year we revisit Shaman talents a little bit. It's not going to be sooner than that. It's going to be a Patch.
Shaman Talents look to be revisited early next year, but in the meantime, Kris does mention that there will be some tuning once they get raid data. Other than that, Shaman (and Druid) talents are on the radar for getting changed early next year.
