The Voidspire

Raid guide · Patch 12.0 · Normal / Heroic / Mythic

All raids

The Voidspire is Midnight Season 1's six-boss flagship raid — a shattered spire between the Twisting Nether and a fallen titan facility. Imperator Averzian teaches tic-tac-toe territory control; Vorasius splits the raid for wall-breaking intermissions; Salhadaar, the dragons, Lightblinded Vanguard, and Crown of the Cosmos escalate void corruption, split groups, and memory checks. Pre-assign soaks and path teams before pull 1.

  • Clear outer platform trash in two pulls — Void-Touched Sentinels link within 8 yards.
  • After Averzian: upper spiral (Vorasius, Vaelgor & Ezzorak) vs lower bridge (Salhadaar) — assign teams before pull.
  • Nexus Convergence is a checkpoint — release and run back without re-clearing branches.
  • Averzian: assign middle-first tic-tac-toe caller and Umbral Collapse soakers before pull.
  • Save battle res for Lightblinded Vanguard if a tank dies during 100-energy overlap.
  • Mythic Fractured Walkway: kill Void Stalkers before bridge gate opens.
12.0

Imperator Averzian

A tic-tac-toe fight: three Abyssal Voidshapers claim floor tiles. Three in a row triggers March of the Endless (wipe). Soak Umbral Collapse on Voidshapers to kill them. Two soaks per wave; one claim always goes through. Boss in claimed tiles gains 99% DR.

The fight, in order

  1. 1

    Tic-tac-toe

Kill Voidshapers with Umbral Collapse. Middle first.

Call middle tile first every Shadow's Advance wave. Ping which Voidshaper each Umbral Collapse will hit — two soaks back-to-back each wave, one claim always goes through. Stack in the soak ON the Voidshaper you want dead.

    Everyone
  2. 2

    Claim & portal

One tile claims per wave. Portal triggers intermission.

Tank kites Averzian away from all claimed tiles — Imperator's Glory gives 99% damage reduction in claimed territory. Swap at ~8 Blackening Wounds stacks. When portal opens, incoming tank taunts at intermission start — adds run to highest stacks.

    Tank
  3. 3

    Intermission

Kill adds, dodge Void Fall and Oblivion's Wrath lances.

Interrupt Pitch Bulwark on Voidbound Annihilators — required, not optional. Kill Annihilators first, then Voidmaws. Heroic: kill Voidmaws before 35% or they run to claimed tiles and heal. Tank all adds 10+ yards from boss.

    Everyone
  4. 4

    Repeat

More portals = more mechanics each intermission.

Each intermission adds more portals and mechanics — Shadow Phalanx walls on intermissions 2, 4, 6 on Heroic+. Find gaps in the wall and run through; getting hit is lethal. Mythic: dispel Void Marked on Voidshapers to break Cosmic Shell before Umbral Collapse.

    Everyone
  5. 5

    Burn

Kill boss before too many tiles claimed.

Three tiles in a row triggers March of the Endless — wipe. Burn the boss before too many tiles are claimed. Never let boss stand in claimed territory. Mythic: hard-swap to Voidshaper at high energy before Endwalker form.

    Damage

Do this

  1. Learn the 9-tile grid before pull — middle tile is always first priority.
  2. When you get Umbral Collapse, soak it ON a Voidshaper to kill it and block that tile.
  3. Two Umbral Collapses per wave — call which tiles you're breaking before they land.
  4. Never stand between Averzian and the active tank during soaks.
  5. Tanks swap at ~8 Blackening Wounds stacks.
  6. Keep boss OUT of claimed tiles — Imperator's Glory gives 99% damage reduction.
  7. Intermission: interrupt Pitch Bulwark on Annihilators; kill Voidmaws before they reach claimed tiles at 35%.

Not this

  • Three claimed tiles in a row — March of the Endless wipes the raid.
  • Boss standing in claimed territory — 99% DR makes progress impossible.
  • Missing both Umbral Collapses on the same Voidshaper when you needed two kills.
  • Voidmaws reaching claimed tiles at 35% on Heroic — they heal to full.
  • Adds within 10 yards of boss during intermission — they get empowered.
  • On Mythic: Voidshaper reaching 100 energy — Endwalker form spirals the pull.
On Heroic:
  • Voidmaws at 35% run to nearest claimed tile and heal — kill fast.
  • Adds must be 10 yards from boss or they empower.
  • Shadow Phalanx on intermissions 2, 4, 6.

  • Stand here
Pick two
  1. Three Voidshapers spawn and start claiming tiles.
  2. Soaks kill two of them, the middle one first.
  3. The third always claims its tile.

Shadow's Advance

Call middle first. Ping which Voidshaper each Umbral Collapse will hit. Kill two per wave with soaks.

Three immune Voidshapers spawn and cast Void Rupture to claim tiles.

Everyone
Soak on add
  1. The tank gets a soak circle.
  2. Tank carries it onto the Voidshaper; players stack inside.
  3. The hit kills the Voidshaper and blocks its tile.

Umbral Collapse

Stack in the soak ON the Voidshaper you want dead. Two soaks back-to-back each wave — plan both targets.

Tank gets a soak circle; damage reduced by players in it. Hitting a Voidshaper kills it.

Everyone
Tank swap
  1. Each melee hit stacks on the tank.
  2. Swap at about 8 stacks.
  3. In the intermission, adds run to the highest stacks.

Blackening Wounds

Swap at ~8 stacks. Incoming tank taunts at intermission start — adds run to highest stacks.

Melee reduces max health by 4% per stack. Highest stacks attract intermission adds.

Tank
Off the tile
  1. In a claimed tile the boss takes almost no damage.
  2. Tank walks him out onto a free tile.
  3. Keep him off every claimed tile.

Imperator's Glory

Tank kites boss away from all claimed tiles. Call 'boss in tile' if he drifts in.

Boss in claimed tile gains 75% damage and 99% damage reduction.

Tank
Kick, then kill
  1. Interrupt Pitch Bulwark on the Annihilator and kill it first.
  2. Then kill the Voidmaws.
  3. Heroic: below 35% they run to a claimed tile and heal.

Intermission Adds

Interrupt Pitch Bulwark. Kill Annihilators first. Heroic: kill Voidmaws before 35% or they run to claimed tiles and heal.

Voidbound Annihilator and Shadowguard Stalwart cast Pitch Bulwark; Voidmaws cleave down.

DamageTank
Through the gap
  1. A wall of immune adds crosses the room.
  2. Line up on the gap.
  3. Run through it. Touching the wall is lethal.

Shadow Phalanx

Find a gap in the wall and run through. Do not get hit — it's lethal.

Intermissions 2/4/6: wall of immune adds crosses the room.

Your job

Tank

  • Tank all intermission adds 10+ yards from boss.

Healer

  • Dispel Void Marked on Voidshapers instantly on Mythic.

  • Heal through Oblivion's Wrath if players clip lances.

Damage

  • Follow tank's ping on which Voidshaper to break.
  • Interrupt Pitch Bulwark — required, not optional.
  • Kill Voidmaws before 35% on Heroic+.
  • Mythic: hard-swap to Voidshaper at high energy.
From the Encounter JournalBlizzard's own notes and ability list for Imperator Averzian

Averzian uses Shadow's Advance to claim territory on the battlefield. Territory claimed cannot be retaken, and if Averzian claims three adjacent territories in a row he unleashes the March of the Endless. Causing an Umbral Collapse on a territory being taken prevents its capture.

Damage

  • Abyssal Voidshapers attempt to use Gathering Darkness at full power.
  • Shadowguard Stalwarts attempt to empower their allies with Pitch Bulwark.

Healers

  • Dark Upheaval inflicts periodic damage to all players.
  • Umbral Collapse inflicts damage to everyone that is reduced by the number of players at the impact location.

Tanks

  • Averzian gains Imperator's Glory while close to territory he controls.
  • When Averzian strikes his current target he infects them with Blackening Wounds.
