Den of Nalorakk

Mythic+ guide · Midnight · Patch 12.1

All dungeons

Den of Nalorakk is a three-boss Amani-themed dungeon in a snow-covered troll den. Collect six offerings before The Hoardmonger, survive the Harsh Winds gauntlet, and protect Zul'jarra during Nalorakk's echo and shade mechanics on the final boss.

32:00Midnight12.1

Route and gates

  • Collect six viable offerings (berries, fish, apples) before the first boss to summon The Hoardmonger.
  • Night Elves, Trolls, or Druids in bear form can grab Rune of Anchoring in Snowworn Provisions — 50% reduced forced movement for 15 minutes.
  • Use terrain cover during the Harsh Winds gauntlet — snow-free ground indicates safe spots.
  • Empower meat pile first, bone second, mushroom last on The Hoardmonger at 90/70/40%.
  • Save interrupts for Stormbound Mystics and Loa Speaker Nanea in final trash.

Trash that ends keys

  • Interrupt Stormbound Mystic Arc Lightning — required on every pull with this mob.
  • Kill Magma Totems from Ruthless Totemcallers before they pulse group damage.
  • Dodge Grizzled Warbringer Poison Spear Volley puddles and use defensives during Primal Echo.
  • CC Bonded Beasttamer Bestial Wrath and kill the Loyal Saberfang before it fixates.
  • Destroy Volatile Totems from Loa Speaker Nanea immediately — totem AoE overwhelms healers.

What to kick

2×

Always kick

Miss one and someone dies.

  • Arc Lightning
    Stormbound Mystic

Raid-wide channel — highest interrupt priority in the dungeon.

  • Lightning Bolt
    Loa Speaker Nanea

Heavy single-target damage; also spawns totems on some casts.

2×

Kick when you can

Costs healing or time if it goes off.

  • Healing Breeze
    Earthwhisper Tender

Heals nearby trash — interrupt or CC to prevent elongated pulls.

  • Frigid Roar
    Frigid Mauler

Interrupt every cast on pulls with this mob.

1×

Spare kicks

Only when nothing above is casting.

  • Volatile Totem
    Ruthless Totemcaller

Kill totem spawns; interrupt if totem is already dead.

The Hoardmonger

A greedy troll who empowers resource piles at 90%, 70%, and 40%. Soak Rotten Mushrooms before they Putrid Burst, spread mushroom soaks to manage Toxic Spores, and prepare for Hearty Bellow knockback.

The fight, in order

  1. 1

    Pull & soak mushrooms

Soak Rotten Mushrooms before 12s timer. Spread soaks to manage Toxic Spores.

Soak every Rotten Mushroom before the 12-second timer expires — unsoaked mushrooms Putrid Burst and wipe the group. Rotate who takes soaks so Toxic Spores poison does not stack on one player. Dispel spores when possible.

    Everyone
  2. 2

    Resource breakpoints

At 90/70/40%, boss empowers a pile — meat first, bone second, mushroom last.

At 90%, 70%, and 40% the Hoardmonger runs to empower a resource pile permanently. Order is meat first (adds knockback to Hearty Bellow), bone second (upgrades slam), mushroom last (more Rotten Mushrooms). Call which pile he is running to before each breakpoint.

    Everyone
  3. 3

    Dodge slams

Step out of Bonespike Slam zones. Tank mitigates Earthshatter Slam.

After bone pile empowerment, watch Bonespike Slam impact zones and step out before they land — empowered slam leaves dangerous ground. Tank uses active mitigation on Earthshatter Slam before bone empowerment. Face the boss away from mushroom soak paths.

    Tank
  4. 4

    Hearty Bellow

Pre-top before empowered bellow — knockback plus AoE and DoT after meat pile.

After meat pile empowerment, Hearty Bellow gains knockback, AoE damage, and a DoT. Healers pre-shield and top the group before every bellow. Position away from walls and mushroom remnants so knockback does not launch you into hazards.

    Healer
  5. 5

    Repeat & win

Loop mushroom soaks and pile empowerment until the Hoardmonger falls.

Every cycle: soak mushrooms on timer, call empowered pile, dodge slams, ramp for bellow. Call mushroom timers at 10 seconds — Putrid Burst from missed soaks is the primary wipe. Hold burst for windows after mushroom waves clear.

    Everyone

Do this

  1. At 90%, 70%, and 40% the boss runs to a resource pile — empower meat first, bone second, mushroom last.
  2. Soak every Rotten Mushroom within 12 seconds — missed soaks trigger Putrid Burst raid damage.
  3. Spread mushroom soaks across players; Toxic Spores poison stacks hurt if one player takes them all.
  4. Step out of Bonespike Slam impact zone — empowered bone pile turns Earthshatter Slam into area denial.
  5. Pre-top for Hearty Bellow after meat pile empowerment — knockback plus AoE and DoT.
  6. Dispel Toxic Spores poison when possible; otherwise rotate who soaks mushrooms.

Not this

  • Missing Rotten Mushroom soaks — Putrid Burst at 12 seconds wipes the group.
  • One player soaking every mushroom — Toxic Spores stacks become unhealable.
  • Standing in Bonespike Slam after bone pile empowerment.
  • Getting knocked into hazards during Hearty Bellow knockback.

Pile order
  1. At 90%, 70% and 40% he runs to a pile and empowers it.
  2. The order is meat, then bone, then mushroom.
  3. Call the pile before each breakpoint.

Resourceful Measures

Empower order: meat pile first (adds knockback to Ravenous Bellow), bone second (upgrades slam), mushroom last (more Rotten Mushrooms). Call which pile he is running to before each breakpoint.

At 90%, 70%, and 40% health the Hoardmonger empowers a resource pile permanently.

Call it: Meat first is intentional — Hearty Bellow is healable; mushroom empowerment spawns more soaks.

Everyone
Soak them all
  1. Mushrooms spawn around the room on a 12-second timer.
  2. A different player soaks each one.
  3. Any left unsoaked bursts on the whole group.

Rotten Mushroom Soaks

Soak every Rotten Mushroom before the 12-second timer expires. Spread soaks across players — soaking applies Toxic Spores poison. Rotate who takes mushrooms so one player does not stack all poison.

Mushroom soaks spawn around the room. Unsoaked mushrooms Putrid Burst after 12 seconds.

Everyone
Dispel, rotate
  1. Soaking a mushroom applies a poison that stacks.
  2. Dispel it when you can.
  3. A different player takes the next mushroom.

Toxic Spores

Dispel Toxic Spores when possible. If no dispels, rotate soak assignments so poison spreads evenly — never let one healer hold every stack.

Poison applied when soaking mushrooms. Stacks amplify all subsequent damage.

HealerEveryone
Leave the impact
  1. After the bone pile, the slam marks an impact zone.
  2. Step out before it lands.
  3. The ground it leaves stays dangerous.

Bonespike Slam

Watch the slam impact zone and step out before it lands. The empowered version leaves dangerous ground — do not stand in the impact area.

After bone pile empowerment, Earthshatter Slam becomes Bonespike Slam with area denial.

Everyone
Top up, brace
  1. Healer tops and shields the group before the bellow.
  2. The bellow knocks everyone back and leaves a DoT.
  3. Stand away from walls and mushroom remnants beforehand.

Hearty Bellow

Healers pre-top and pre-shield before Hearty Bellow. Position away from walls and mushroom remnants so knockback does not launch you into hazards.

After meat pile empowerment, Ravenous Bellow gains knockback, AoE damage, and a DoT.

HealerEveryone
Mitigate the slam
  1. Tank uses active mitigation for the heavy slam.
  2. Face the boss away from the mushroom soak paths.
  3. The group can then still reach every mushroom.

Earthshatter Slam

Tank uses active mitigation on Earthshatter Slam. Face the boss away from mushroom soak paths.

Heavy slam on the tank before bone pile empowerment.

Tank

Your job

Tank

  • Call empowered pile order before pull: meat, bone, mushroom.
  • Face the Hoardmonger away from soak paths so the group can reach mushrooms.
  • Active mitigation for Earthshatter Slam and Bonespike Slam sequences.
  • Position away from walls before Hearty Bellow so knockback is survivable.

Healer

  • Pre-shield before Hearty Bellow after meat empowerment — knockback plus DoT is the spike.
  • Dispel Toxic Spores on rotation; call when soak rotation needs to shift.
  • Putrid Burst from missed mushrooms is a wipe — call mushroom timers at 10 seconds.
  • Ramp before each Resourceful Measures breakpoint.

Damage

  • Soak every Rotten Mushroom before 12 seconds — higher priority than boss damage.
  • Rotate mushroom soaks so Toxic Spores does not stack on one player.
  • Step out of Bonespike Slam zones immediately.
  • Hold burst for windows after mushroom waves are cleared.
From the Encounter JournalBlizzard's own notes and ability list for The Hoardmonger
