Altar of Fangs is a compact three-boss dungeon inside the Vaults of Atal'Utek on the Coiled Isle. Serpent cultists, carrion feeders, and ritual venom define the run — execution spikes on Zul'jan's beam soaks and venom stacks, but Rav'i and The Writhing Coil punish sloppy shield breaks and missed interrupts first.

Before you pull

Route & gate tips

  • Destroy all 6 Caustic Mist Totems before Rav'i — the path does not open until they are cleared.
  • Grab the Unfinished Mixture buff after The Writhing Coil (25 Cooking or Alchemy) — Mutating Elixir lasts the rest of the run.
  • The route is linear with no skips; enemy forces come from trash density, not hidden packs.
  • Save major cooldowns for Zul'jan; the first two bosses die quickly when mechanics are handled cleanly.
  • A 30-minute timer is mid-length; wasted time on trash before Rav'i is the most common timer leak.

Trash priorities

  • Interrupt Piercing Hiss on Primal Serpents and Mass Envenom on Ascendant Serpents — both are required.
  • Face Twinfang Harrowers away from the group for Toxic Breath; dispel Paralyzing Shots immediately.
  • Interrupt Evolve on High Evolutionists before Envenom becomes Mass Envenom.
  • Kill Living Venom one at a time — Venom Burst on death chains party damage.
  • CC Hatchlings from egg pulls; they fixate random players with Nascent Hunger.

Interrupt priority

Interrupt rotation
Primal Serpentrequired
Piercing Hiss

Heavy damage channel — interrupt every cast on every pull.

Ascendant Serpentrequired
Mass Envenom

Raid-wide poison — assign a dedicated interrupter.

High Evolutionistrequired
Evolve

CC or interrupt before Envenom upgrades to Mass Envenom.

Ula'tek's Chosenhigh
Mass Envenom

Also used by Ascendant Serpent — rotation must cover both.

Twinfang Harrowermedium
Paralyzing Shots

Dispel or freedom; not interruptible but must be handled fast.

Boss encounters

Rav'i

A multi-headed hydra that shields in carrion piles during Ssscavenging. Move her to the correct bone pile, soak Messy Eater puddles to break the shield, and spread for Triple Shot and Regurgitate waves.

Full fight flow

Pull to win — follow each phase in order every time the loop repeats.

5 phases
  1. 1Tank
    Pull & position

Tank faces Rav'i away from the group. Track which bone pile lacks a Twinfang corpse.

Pull Rav'i to center and face her away from the group so Regurgitate and Triple Shot do not cleave melee. Call out which bone pile never received a Twinfang corpse — that pile is your safe Ssscavenging spot for the whole fight.

  2. 2Everyone
    Ssscavenging

Drag boss to the correct bone pile. Soak Messy Eater puddles to break the shield.

The moment Ssscavenging starts, tank drags Rav'i onto the pile without a Twinfang corpse. Everyone steps into every Messy Eater soak circle to damage the shield — standing outside lets the shield linger and healing falls behind. Wrong pile triggers Feeding Frenzy and is usually a wipe.

  3. 3Everyone
    Spread & dodge

Loosely spread for Triple Shot. Dodge Regurgitate waves toward the marked player.

Give each player space so Triple Shot does not hit multiple people. When Regurgitate targets someone, everyone else moves out of the wave path — dispel disease on anyone clipped. Do not stack in the boss hitbox during these casts.

  4. 4Healer
    Ravenous Stomp

Pre-top the group before the stomp hits. Resume boss damage once shield is broken.

Healers pre-shield and top the group before each Ravenous Stomp — it is a predictable raid-wide spike that kills untopped groups. DPS should not greed damage during the cast window; resume boss damage once the shield phase ends.

  5. 5Everyone
    Repeat & win

Loop pile positioning, shield breaks, and spread discipline until Rav'i dies.

Every cycle repeats: call the safe pile, soak through Ssscavenging, spread for shots and waves, top before stomp. Tank uses active mitigation on Hydrastrike between phases. Missing one pile call or one soak rotation snowballs into a long shield phase.

New player checklist

  1. 1Before Ssscavenging: tank drags Rav'i to the bone pile that did NOT get a Twinfang corpse — wrong pile triggers Feeding Frenzy.
  2. 2During Ssscavenging: everyone steps into Messy Eater soak circles and pools damage to break the shield fast.
  3. 3Loosely spread for Triple Shot — do not cleave allies with the random-target shots.
  4. 4Dodge Regurgitate waves shooting toward a random player; dispel disease if someone gets hit.
  5. 5Top the group before Ravenous Stomp — it is a predictable raid-wide spike.
  6. 6Tank faces Rav'i away from the group; Hydrastrike makes her melee output brutal on the active tank.
!

This will wipe you

  • Letting Rav'i Ssscavenge on a pile with a Twinfang corpse — Feeding Frenzy is a near-wipe.
  • Ignoring Messy Eater soaks during the shield phase — shield lasts too long and healing falls behind.
  • Stacking during Triple Shot or Regurgitate overlap.
  • Standing in Septic Spatter circles from trash or boss puddles.

Mechanics

Tank

Ssscavenging

TankEveryone

Rav'i retreats into a carrion pile and gains a damage shield. Wrong pile choice enrages her.

What you do

Watch which bone pile did NOT receive a Twinfang corpse during the fight. Tank moves Rav'i onto that pile before Ssscavenging starts. Never let her scavenge a pile with a corpse on it.

Officer tip: Call the safe pile out loud before the cast — Feeding Frenzy is the primary wipe.

Soak

Messy Eater Soaks

Everyone

During Ssscavenging, soak circles spawn that must be stood in to damage the shield.

What you do

Every player steps into Messy Eater soak circles during the shield phase. Pool damage on the shield — do not stand outside and heal through a long shield.

Defensive

Feeding Frenzy

Everyone

If Rav'i scavenes a pile with a Twinfang corpse, she enrages with massive damage and poison.

What you do

Prevention only — drag her to the correct bone pile before Ssscavenging. If Frenzy happens, pop every defensive and burn; you cannot kick the enrage.

Spread

Triple Shot

Everyone

Rav'i fires at random players. Standing near allies cleaves the damage.

What you do

Loosely spread — give each player space so Triple Shot does not hit multiple people. Use a personal if it overlaps with Ravenous Stomp.

Move

Regurgitate

Everyone

Waves shoot toward a random player, leaving disease on anyone hit.

What you do

Identify the targeted player and move out of the wave path. Dispel disease on anyone clipped — the DoT stacks fast on Fortified weeks.

Defensive

Ravenous Stomp

HealerEveryone

Raid-wide physical stomp that hurts if the group is not topped.

What you do

Healers pre-shield and top the group before each stomp. DPS should not greed damage during the cast window.

Tank

Hydrastrike

Tank

Rav'i hits the tank with high melee damage between mechanics.

What you do

Tank uses active mitigation on pull and after each Ssscavenging phase. Face the boss away so Triple Shot and Regurgitate do not clip the group.

Tank
  • Track which bone pile lacks a Twinfang corpse and call it before Ssscavenging.
  • Drag Rav'i onto the safe pile the moment Ssscavenging starts — wrong pile is a wipe.
  • Face the boss away from the group for Regurgitate and Triple Shot cleave avoidance.
  • Active mitigation for Hydrastrike; swap if melee damage climbs after a long shield phase.
Healer
  • Pre-top before Ravenous Stomp every time — it is the main predictable spike.
  • During Messy Eater soaks, expect sustained shield-phase damage; ramp before Ssscavenging.
  • Dispel Regurgitate disease immediately; stacks punish on Fortified.
  • If Feeding Frenzy triggers, call for externals — healing alone will not hold.
DPS
  • Step into every Messy Eater soak during Ssscavenging — shield break is everyone's job.
  • Loosely spread for Triple Shot; never stack in the boss hitbox.
  • Dodge Regurgitate waves; do not stand in the targeted player's path.
  • Hold burst for windows after the shield breaks, not during soak phase.
