Brewmaster Monk

Brewmaster tanks differently to everything else: Stagger converts a large portion of incoming damage into a slow bleed, which you then remove with Purifying Brew. Played well it is one of the smoothest tanks in the game; played badly the delayed damage arrives all at once. It also has excellent mobility and area threat.

How this spec operates

• Stagger delays damage instead of preventing it — Purifying Brew clears heavy stagger.
• Don't purify at green stagger — save charges for yellow/red levels.
• Keg Smash is threat, damage, and brew cooldown reduction — never delay it.
• Breath of Fire applies pack-wide damage reduction — keep it on cooldown in melee.
• Celestial Brew and Fortifying Brew are proactive — press before spikes land.
